Shipping was a ripoff, I paid $8 for shipping. I did have to buy a step adapter for my shop vac becase I didn't want to buy another adapter and spend another $8 in shipping. My sander worked a lot better when I attached it, however the clips that hold it to the sander broke after 2 weeks.Bosch, same on you for such a terrible system.
I picked up this adapter fitting to go with my Bosch 3727DEVS 6" sander which is a beautiful amazing machine and I highly recommend it. Sand them down, and slide that into the cut end of the extension tube you just cut. Let everything dry and you are done. First off, you need this fitting to take care of the oblong hole coming out of the Bosch sanders. In fact the suction on the board is almost too much. Next, I picked up a 1-1/4" x 14" Extension wand for about $6.50 from Lowes and cut it on my bandsaw slightly less then in half. But this is not a review of that however. Myself, I used super glue to hold the two pieces together and then sealed the whole thing with silicone adhesive caulk.
Keep the fat end, this will fit perfectly into the business end of a 1-1/2" shopvac hose or most any other commercial vacuum adapter. Take the end of the hose adapter, it has little nubs on it. Everything fits tightly and holds together great while you sand. Four stars because Bosch doesn't include this in the box.
Airflow more then tripled. Btw, Bosch hose i a joke.
It cost almost 1/5 of the sander with S&H. I was just scratching my head, why this small plastic part did not come with sander.
More, round hole is very non-standard, so you will need adapter for this adapter, if you have any standard american hose. The round hole is too small.
It reduces airflow to about 1/3 of the original oval hole. Don't even think about that.I made a new adapter for my 2" Ridgid hose, which goes from the outside of the oval hole, not from inside.
I would not recommend this to anybody with enough skills to make a better adapter.
When I need to put it, I simply plug in the Bosch extension hose from the shop vaccum into it. This adapter works fine with my Bosch 6" random orbital sander. I pretty much leave it permanently attached to the sander. The extension hose will stay put as long as I don't pull too hard on it (like when there is no more slack in the hose and I still keep on pulling). I recommend it for using it with Bosch products that are compatible with it.
Perfect fit for my Orbital Sander. I use it all the time now when I sand to help cut down the dust that normally goes everywhere. The nice part is I can even use it with my portabe dewalt shop vac when I am at customers houses doing work so I don't have to bring my large shop vac.
